Community Alternatives Mission:
Community Alternatives mission is to provide hope, care and cost-effective
services to people with mental health disorders for the purpose of helping them
reach their highest potential.
Community Alternatives Vision:
We envision a community where every person - regardless of income, diagnosis,
disability or race - can realize their full potential.
About Us:
Community Alternatives specializes in creating innovative programs and services to meet unique mental health
needs in the community. We focus our creative energy on serving the most vulnerable fellow citizens in our
community. It is our goal to provide the best continuum of care possible using research-based approaches to
achieve the highest success rates for our clients. We serve those who have fallen through the cracks of most social service systems of care-we serve the "hidden homeless," those who suffer from mental illness and often substance abuse disorders, who are poor, who are HIV infected, and who are often living on the streets because of their multiple and complex problems.
Rather than applying one approach to all clients, we begin with careful assessments of each client's needs and goals. We listen to what they want their lives to be like and then help them to achieve their goals. Most want stable, safe housing as a primary goal and we assist them in finding housing and helping them with medication, recovery, and whatever else they need to maintain it.
